Call for Judges: The Congressional App Challenge

The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a nationwide initiative aimed at encouraging students to gain exposure to STEM, coding, and computer science subjects by developing their own software apps.

Since 2013, US Representatives across the country challenge students in their districts to create and submit their original apps for a chance to win the Congressional App Challenge (CAC).

Each challenge is district-specific and the winning teams earn public recognition from their local Representatives, including that winning apps may be put on display in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year. Additional prizes may be available.

Call for Judges
Qualified judges are needed to evaluate and score the submissions from students across the country. Volunteer judges play a critical role in evaluating these innovative projects, helping to recognize and celebrate young talent in technology.

Typical qualifications include teaching or business experience in software development, app design, startup businesses, computer science, and CAC alumni.

● October 28 – November 22: Judging Period
● November 22: Deadline for returning evaluations to the Congressional district office

Judging Responsibilities:
Details of the process may vary by district but volunteer judge assessments will directly contribute to selecting winners and recognizing student excellence in app development. Please ensure that your evaluations are thorough, fair, and submitted by November 22.

Thank you for your commitment to supporting student innovation in the 2024 Congressional App Challenge!
